RUN YOUR SHOES OFF FAQs:

Can I finish the event with my shoes on?
YES, although donating them to a worthy cause is preferred.  If you finish with shoes on you will not qualify for top 3 awards.

What will I walk home in?
The Ethiopia Project is going to have free sandals at the end of the race for all participants so you don’t have to walk to your car barefoot!  How cool is that?!

Giving away a pair of shoes is a big deal!
We know!  That’s why we’re giving away so much free stuff (see bottom of page) at the end of the race.  PLUS, every participant will receive 15% off any pair of Brooks shoes at Fit Right NW!

Can I have someone other than myself pick-up my packet?
Sure!  Just make sure they know your last name and event distance you are doing.

What if I have to pick my packet up the day of the race?
No problem, just be sure to show up at least 45 minutes early so there are no problems.

When do I get my shirt?
Packet pick-up at Fit Right NW in Portland ONLY, the day before the race:
Saturday, August 2nd 10A-3P.

What about Parking?
There are “x” amount of parking spaces available at Willamette Park.  More details will be given in the reminder e-mail sent the week of the event.  Cost of parking at Willamette Park is $3/car.  PLEASE PLEASE carpool as parking may fill-up before the event!

How do I get to Willamette Park?
Google it! Here is the address:
Southwest Macadam Avenue and Nebraska Street Portland, OR 97219

How many people are you expecting to do this event?
A minimum of 1,000 participants!  We know, we know—this is a first year event… “there’s no way they can get that many participants in their first year!”…but we’re up for the challenge!  Thanks for helping us meet it by signing up!

How can I pay for this event?
Currently we ARE NOT accepting online registrations, as costs associated with this are not worth the financial hassle (we believe that no online agency should make a profit off of a non-profit event).
Hopefully this will be available by April, but until then you can stop by either Fit Right NW location and drop off your registration and pay with cash, check, or CC.
You can also mail all applications to:
The Ethiopia Project
PO BOX 10634
Portland, OR 97296
Make all check payable to The Ethiopia Project.
